Then Final Cut Pro X was announced and it looked great and I bought it, and was what is this? It was so confusing, talkshows mocked it, it was an unmitigated disaster, and a rerelease/update soon followed, which seemed to solve many issues, that was the what many call the "10.0" series, after a period, the "10.1" updates, followed by the "10.2" updates, Apple seemed to be heading one the right path, lost features making a comeback, but the elephant in the henhouse is the hardware, both professional and domestic, underpowered, unsuitable. I have followed the development of Apple and non linear editing, I could not afford to purchase Final Cut Studio 3, and I waited for the release of the next version, yet Apple seemed to at that point stop updating both Final Cut Studio 2 and 3, with Final Cut Pro stuck at a dot 3 update.7.0.3. I wish we had color correcting when I was a tv news video editor, some shots would have been so much better with the use of Color, but Final Cut came after my departure from that department!!! I have not used Final Cut Pro X or Final Cut Studio 2 much professionally, not for the lack of trying, the comment below is my thoughts about the past, present and future of Apple and non linear video editing.Īpple started out with a great package, Final Cut Studio, version 2 is the one I bought and learned to edit non linear on, it was damn expensive and so was the laptop, and with the ability then to upgrade RAM post purchase of the laptop, editing on a mobile device was great, Final Cut Studio 2 was a great package, Final Cut Pro, Color, Motion, Soundtrack Pro, DVD Studio Pro and Livetype, a full suite of applications that for the most part worked well together, some more complex, for example Color, for color correcting. Were you making money off FCP sales or something? Otherwise, why in the fuck would you care other than to throw your classism in those poor kids faces.Below in italics is my comments I posted in regards Final Cut Pro X. I mean, fuck them for not wanting to risk their lives on top of being further in debt, am I right?Īnd you're over here being pissed off about it. It allowed them to hone their craft without having to risk their lives in freezing weather to drive over half an hour in winter conditions to come and work in a lab that may or may not be accessible to them because of various factors. I totally understand and am fine with them bootlegging it. And, on top of that, they're expected to buy a $2000 piece of software.I mean, just fuck off on that shit.
